Android acts. Obsidian remembers.
Obelisk is a private MVP that connects an Android intentionality layer to an Obsidian vault. The project is built as two cooperating products with a narrow, versioned bridge between them.
The Android side
Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Room, DataStore, Android's Storage Access Framework, foreground monitoring, overlays, notifications, and HOME-role integrations coordinate intentional sessions and recovery.
- Session engine
- A pure reducer owns logical decisions while durable state and effect handling remain explicit.
- Reactive guard
- Foreground-package changes are evaluated against configured app rules and the active session.
- Daily Note Locking
- Selected note requirements can become prerequisites for configured app access.
The Obsidian side
The mobile plugin accepts intention and quick-navigation commands, performs a secure bridge handoff, clears consumed commands, and writes completed session and reflection Markdown back into the Daily Note.
Current project status
The Android MVP targets API 33–36 and has been validated first on Samsung SM-S918B with Obsidian mobile. Broader device support, public distribution, pricing, licensing, and a public source destination are not yet committed.
A public repository link will appear here only when project access is confirmed. This local project page is the current “View the project” destination.
